[01]Who it's for

This is for you if ...

  1. 01

Your team spends hours every week moving data between spreadsheets, email and systems.

  2. 02

You've outgrown an off-the-shelf tool, and the workarounds and licenses cost more than they save.

  3. 03

You want to give customers self-service: logins, orders, documents and invoices in one place.

  4. 04

Your internal system has become hard and expensive to change, and only one person understands it.

  5. 05

Your systems don't talk to each other, so the same information gets typed in several places.

[02]Deliverables

What you get, and what you don't

A platform should fit your processes, not the other way around. So we start with the process and build the software second.

What you get

  • A map of users, processes and what's most valuable to build first
  • Interfaces that are easy to understand, even for non-technical colleagues
  • Logins, roles and permissions, so the right people see the right data
  • Integrations with the tools you already use, such as accounting, CRM, payments and inventory
  • Reports and dashboards with the numbers you actually steer by
  • Automated tests, backups and monitoring set up from the start
  • Documentation, so the platform never depends on one person

What you don't get

  • A system that copies your old spreadsheets one to one. We simplify the process before we build it.
  • Everything at once. Larger platforms are built in phases, so the most important parts go live first.
  • Third-party licenses in my name. They're in your name, so you're never tied to me.

[03]Integrations

When your systems need to talk

Many platforms start as an integration. Data typed into two places is wasted time and a source of errors.

I build integrations between your systems and third-party APIs, such as your webshop, accounting, CRM, payments and shipping. If you have data that customers or partners need to use, I'll build them a documented API.

An integration is only good if it also works on the night another system goes down. That's why error handling, retries and logging are part of the job from the start, not bolted on afterwards.

  • 01

    Mapped

What moves, when, and which system holds the source of truth.

  • 02

    Robust

Queues, retries and logging, so no data goes missing when something fails.

  • 03

    Monitored

You get an alert when an integration fails, instead of hearing it from customers.

  • 04

    Documented

So your team or partners can understand it and build on it.

[04]Process

How a platform comes together

In phases, so you get value early and spread the investment over time.

  1. Intro call

20 minutes, free. You tell me where it hurts today, and I ask about users, data and systems.

  2. Plan for the solution

We map the process, define the first phase and sketch the architecture. You get a fixed price and a plan for the phases after.

  3. First phase

I build what delivers the most value first and show progress on a staging site, so users can try it early.

  4. Live and beyond

The platform goes into use and we learn from it. The next phase is prioritized by what actually gets used.

[05]Pricing

How much does a custom platform cost?

Pricing depends on how many processes and systems the platform covers. We agree on the scope and price for each phase before work starts.

Price

Priced to fit the scope

You'll know the price before we start.

All prices exclude VAT. I only work with businesses.

What drives the price

  • Number of user types, roles and permissions
  • Number of integrations and the quality of the other systems' APIs
  • Migrating data from old systems and spreadsheets
  • Requirements for security, audit logs and personal data
  • Reports, exports and dashboards

Typical timelineWe agree on a timeline that fits the task

  • Pricing agreed up front

[06]Stack

The stack, and why

Proven choices over shiny ones. A platform should be maintainable for years, and not only by me.

Laravel
Strong at business logic, roles, queues and integrations. Popular enough that you can always find a developer.
React
Interfaces that feel fast, even with lots of data on screen.
MySQL or PostgreSQL
Relational databases that keep data and relationships in order for years.
REST APIs and webhooks
Standard ways to connect systems, so you're not locked into one vendor.
Tailwind CSS
Consistent design across every screen, without a heavy UI library.

[07]FAQ

Questions I often get

Didn't find your answer? Ask me directly
Wouldn't an off-the-shelf tool be cheaper?

Sometimes, and when it is, I'll tell you. Custom software makes sense when your processes are what sets you apart, or when licenses and workarounds cost more than building it right.

Can you build on top of our existing system?

Yes. I start with a code review and give you an honest take on what can be reused and what should be rebuilt.

How do you keep our data safe?

Security is part of the architecture from day one: encrypted connections, role-based access, up-to-date dependencies and backups. We also go through what personal data the platform handles, so you know what GDPR requires of it.

Can it connect to our accounting or CRM system?

If the system has an API, it's usually possible. Before we start, I review the documentation and tell you what can be done and what it takes. Without an API there are often other routes, like webhooks or file transfers.

Who owns the platform?

You do. The code lives in your own repository from day one, and I recommend keeping hosting and licenses in your name. That way you can always switch developers if you need to.

Can we start small?

Yes, and I recommend it. The first phase solves the most pressing problem and goes into use quickly. Then we build on a foundation you already know.

What could your team do if the busywork disappeared?

Tell me which process causes the most pain today. You'll get an honest take on whether a platform is the answer and where to start.
